You’ll find the next edition of my newsletter on my activities as an independent software developer and data specialist.
If refineries have been a hot topic in France those last weeks, I’m going away from them at Kpler to come back to work on internal tools for analysts. Those tools allow the team to qualify the data parallel to automatic ingestions to offer insights on commodities (LNG, crude, coal, …), freight and power markets. The basis for this information comes from watching maritime activity. Since I started to work with Kpler in February 2020, those subjects never failed to be in the spotlight: the Suez canal obstruction, container prices skyrocketing, negative crude futures during COVID, Russian gas etc…
The platform I developed for the Agriculture Competitiveness Project, funded by the World Bank and the Ministry of Agriculture, can be found here: https://geotag.lacp-maf.org/main/country/laos
This project offers loans and funds irrigation schemes for about 400 farmer groups in Laos.
The platform is made up of two components:
I managed the entire development myself and was helped by a designer and a data analyst.
In the scope of its implementation of the Fleming Fund grant to fight antimicrobial resistance, the Merieux Foundation asked me to audit the processes of data feedback from 10 laboratories and to propose a uniform configuration for the WHONET software for Laos. Developed by WHO, this software helps digitise clinical laboratories and extract the results for national surveillance. This picture was taken during an interview with the head of a laboratory.
I started to work on the front end of the application Knowmaster for the French startup Vokse, which offers automation solutions for data inventory, analysis and quality to big companies like TF1 (French tv channel). The platform allows one to map a company’s data and plan regular research.

I got the opportunity to manage an intern from the IT school CY-Tech that came to work with me for three months. He worked on

I was thrilled with the experience and would like to renew it; if you know a student that would be interested, let me know!
As always, if you want to know more about one of those subjects or discuss software, you can answer me here! I also enjoy getting news, significantly if it differs from what I do.
A bientôt,
